Von ihrer New Yorker Wohnung mit Blick auf den Central Park fotografierte Orkin Paraden, Marathonläufe, Konzerte, Demonstrationen und die Schönheit der wechselnden Jahreszeiten. Diese Fotografien füllten die vielbeachteten Bücher „A World through my Window“ und „More Pictures from my Window“. Ruth Orkin fotografierte sehr gerne aus den Fenstern ihrer Wohnungen an der West 88th
Street und dem Central Park West. Die Aufnahme illustriert ihre Lieblingsperspektive - von oben - und stammt aus einer Serie von Fotografien, die sie aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln dokumentierte.

From her New York apartment overlooking Central Park, Orkin photographed marathons, parades, concerts, demonstrations and the beauty of the changing seasons. These photographs were the subject of two widely acclaimed books, “A World through my Window” and “More Pictures from my Window.” Ruth Orkin always liked shooting out of windows from the apartments she lived in, most notably West 88th Street and Central Park West. She also liked shooting from above, which is illustrated here. This was from a series of photos she made from different vantage points.
